28.7.15

Hard drive tab..

Not working yes (buttons not yet activated), but at least displays the actual config.

Now if SourceForge would come back to life, I could commit all that stuff. This all will be a big commit, no chance to ever track the single changes..

Hey,

Thank you for making Janus and integrating it AROS. Please, I have one request for a certain feature...I would even go as far pay donation to what amount you want to have this feature possible...if you reading this...please in the next version can you implement this one feature? Can you implement emulating the LEDs of the Amiga on the host machine's hardware? I know the HDD one already is implemented that doesn't take much...I don't care much for the disk drive LED implementation because I will be using catweasel and using real disk drive anyways to read Amiga floppy disk...I am Janus already have the feature of accessing and viewing and executing real Amiga floppy disks. The only LED in the Amiga feature I want emulated and integrated into the host machine's LED is the power LED.

Can you do that please?

Janus currently exists in two different versions with two completely different source trees:

Janus 1.x, based on old e-uae sources

and

Janus 2.x, based on actual WinUAE sources.

For 1.x there will be no new features, maybe some bugfixes, but nothing more, sorry. So it is very unlikely, that your requested feature will make it into the 1.x tree.

Janus 2.x, as shown in this screenshot, is still not in a releasable state, even if an "alfa release" might happen soon.

Does that mean you will implemented my requested feature? Please, I beg you...for the new version of Janus 2.x please, please, change the code that instead of using the keyboard num lock, scroll lock and cap lock LED on the keyboard to link it to the Amiga emulated LEDs that you put them in the real x86 host machine LEDs? In fact, the only one I am asking is the power LED...to implement emulating the LEDs of the Amiga on the host machine's hardware's power LED.

Please, please, please...are you going to implement this feature into Janus 2.x? Couple of questions, is Janus 2.x going to be as equally invisible when emulating as Janus 1.x where it gives the illusion the 68k is running natively on the AROS platform (with the feature I requested, I hope :D)? Second, is going to be released with icaros 2.04?

It seems the code to do that is not that difficult https://developer.mbed.org/forum/mbed/topic/3205/?page=1#comment-16311 :) Please, please, please implement it :D

Oh one more thing...sorry I don't mean to spam or anything......I know it may seem stupid...but can you add a configuration into Janus menu configuration that allows the user to do the following combination setting:

1) I want to be able to select coherency mode where Janus emulation is completely invisible and all applications/games of 68k appear that is running natively on the host of AROS.

2) The choice to select and see: If the 68k game/application crashes (invisibly under emulation) and does the famous 68k guru flashing screen that it goes full screen in AROS and we see the flashing guru screen like you do normally in real Amiga classic.

3) This is linked to number 2 and give a yes or no choice...if the person presses Left mous button after guru...it wether emulation quits and returns back to native AROS desktop or force reset the entire AROS system. :) Giving the full experience as if AROS is on a native amiga classic system...and feel :)

3) Implement emulating the LEDs of the Amiga on the host machine's hardware's LEDs.

re: the "big commit" it's really worth making the transition to git, you just make little commits on your own computer then push them up to sourceforge whenever you're ready (+ you don't need to be connected to sourceforge for most of the time).. once past the initial shock it's a lot better.
